The eleventh International Conference on Chemical Kinetics took place on June 2019, in Orléans, France. In recent years they were held at MIT (2011), Seville (2013), Ghent (2015), and Chicago (2017).

Since its inception in 1985 in Gaithersburg at the National Institute of Standards the main purpose of the conference has been to bring together investigators from universities, research laboratories, and industrial organizations to review progress and problems in theoretical and experimental chemical kinetics. This cross-disciplinary meeting highlights the importance of fundamental understanding of elementary reactions to the full range of chemical investigations. The specific of this conference is on kinetics of elementary-steps in both the gas and condensed phases.

In the past, this conference has been limited to homogeneous gas-phase and liquid-phase systems. The scope of the 9th ICCK was further broadened to include studies of heterogeneously catalyzed reactions and polymer engineering. With its broadened scope and the cross-disciplinary research of its attendees, the ICCK meetings provide a unique forum to discuss how the same reactive species and reactions manifest themselves under very different reaction conditions (e.g., in atmosphere, aqueous phase, combustion, plasmas, and nonaqueous solvents, and on surfaces…).
